Pearl Jam – I Am Mine – SC Testo e Traduzione

I Am Mine è un brano dei Pearl Jam ed è stato il primo singolo estratto dall’album del 2002, Riot Act ed è anche contenuta nel loro greatest hits, Rearviewmirror: Greatest Hits 1991-2003.

La canzone fu scritta dal frontman e cantante della band, Eddie Vedder, come reazione alla tragedia avvenuta al Roskilde Festival in Danimarca il 30 giugno 2000, dove 9 fan sono stati schiacciati a morte mentre i Pearl Jam stavano suonando. Vedder ha scritto la canzone nella sua camera d’albergo subito prima del loro primo concerto dopo l’incidente.

Il testo di I Am Mine affronta questioni esistenziali. Al concerto dell’8 Aprile 2003  a New Orleans, in Louisiana alla UNO Lakefront Arena, Vedder ha dichiarato, “Questa canzone parla di ciò che è dentro di te. Ciò che uno possiede e ha la libertà di farlo venire fuori”.  In seguito ha anche  dichiarato:” Questa canzone riguarda la sicurezza personale, e la sensazione di essere sicuro, e anche libero”.
