Scritta da Jim McGuinn e Gene Clark dei The Byrds nel 1964, You Showed Me è stata registrata dai The Turtles per l’album The Turtles Present the Battle of the Bands. Estratta poi come singolo nel marzo del 1969.

Nel tempo ne state pubblicate molte cover, una tra tutte quella dei The Lightning Seeds ne fecero una che fu inserita nella colonna sonora del film Austin Powers: International Man Of Mystery.
