Led Zeppelin – Stairway to Heaven – SC Testo e Traduzione

Stairway to Heaven, uscita nel 1971 e inserita nel loro album noto come Led Zeppelin IV, è forse la canzone più celebre della rockband britannica Led Zeppelin. Di certo è una delle più note, grazie ad un mix irresistibile di fattori: una melodia dolcissima e struggente spezzata da uno degli assoli di chitarra più noti al mondo e un testo misterioso e fiabesco, che lascia intendere una sensazione di malinconia e malessere che in un momento o nell’altro ha accompagnato ciascuno di noi.

Scritta dalle due menti creative dei Led Zeppelin, Jimmi Page e Robert Plant, la melodia viene da molti accostata a quella di un brano degli Spirit, Taurus, uscito nel 1968. Non è da escludersi che Jimmi Page si sia più o meno involontariamente ispirato a questo brano, ma la complessità nella struttura musicale di Stairway to Heaven, che dura più di otto minuti nella versione presente sull’album e arriva a durarne molti di più nelle registrazioni live, va comunque molto al di là del brano degli Spirit.

Secondo lo stesso Page, Stairway to Heaven ha cristallizzato l’essenza stessa dei Led Zeppelin nel suo insieme: oltre l’assolo, oltre il testo spirituale e mistico, oltre ogni dettaglio.
