David Bowie – Alabama Song – Testo

Bertolt Brecht scrisse Alabama Song che venne inserita in una raccolta di poemi intitolata Die Hauspostille nel 1927. Scritta direttamente in inglese, questa canzone venne interpretata dallo stesso Brecht sui palcoscenici di tutta Berlino, su musica del compositore classico Kurt Weill, che era stato colpito dalla poesia di Brecht e voleva rompere con i vincoli del suo lavoro precedente.

Il brano, noto anche come Whisky Bar, Moon over Alabama o Moon of Alabama) è stato poi ripreso in una celebre cover dei The Doors nel 1966 e nel 1978 da David Bowie, da sempre appassionato di Brecht, che prima la cantò durante i concerti e due anni dopo la incise.

Alabama Song è uno dei brani scelti da Morgan per l’interpretazione di Chiara Galiazzo durante la sesta puntata del talent show X Factor di giovedì 22 novembre 2012 in replica su Cielo domenica 25 novembre.
